Congratulations!!
We would like to send out a big high five to all of the kids who play on our Softball Team, 8-11 years, they were undefeated in the Gesgapegiag Tournament Aug. 6-7 and 8th. Warm thanks go out to the Coaches – Kim and Chris, for a job well done.

Terry Fox Day
Our Annual Terry Fox walk                      will take place on Sunday, Sept. 19th.  Registration will be at 10 am at Bar Cascapedia with the walk beginning at 11 am.  Afterwards a day of entertainment, door prizes, canteen and bar service will take place at the Community Center, 55 Gallagher. If you would like to donate your time or talent, please contact Elaine at 759-5131(after 6PM) for more information.  All proceeds go towards the Terry Fox Foundation.  Let’s make this year our best ever.  Thank you once again for the support and welcome to all.

Fall Festival
Public Meeting: On Sept. 9th at 7PM we will be having a public meeting. Everyone is welcome to attend, and bring your ideas!

This year the Fall Festival will be held on October 1-2-3rd.  The weekend will be full of activities for all ages.  There will be advertising posted soon regarding the music and activities scheduled for the weekend.  The Soap Box Derby is returning this year, the classic car show, games for the kids, flea market, cantine, bar, etc.
New this year we will be having a Cooking Contest, it is open to everyone.  There will be three categories this year: Apple Pies, Bread & Butter Pickles and Vegetable Soup.  Registration for this event will be on Friday the 1st, the pies and pickles will be judged on Saturday and the soup on Sunday.  For more info call Susie at 392-4042.

50+ BBQ
The 50+ Club will be having the last BBQ for the summer on Saturday, September 11th from 11 to 1PM at the Club 319 Route 299.  The cost is $8 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under.  Hotdogs, hamburgers and salads will be served.  Everyone is welcome and we thank you for your support.

Flea Market
If you would like to reserve a table for the flea market during the Fall Festival, please contact Susie at 392-4042.  The cost to rent a table is $10.00 per day and there is a limit of 25 tables in the tent, there will be place for additional tables outside.  First come, first served. **No ticket sales please.**

Public Consultation Meeting
On September 2nd at 7 PM at the Community Center, 55 Gallagher Road, there will be a public meeting held to update the 5-10 year Development Plan for the Municipality. Everyone is welcome.

New laws regarding pools
The Provincial Government has adopted new laws governing private swimming pools in order to try and prevent drowning deaths in young children.  The web site www.mapiscinesecuritaire.com has all of the info.  However, it is only available in French, I have sent them e-mails requesting the co-ordinates for an English site with the info, they are translating the site is all they would tell me.  If you would like them to provide the info in English you need to go on the site and send them an e-mail, the more requests the more pressure to get it done.
