Terry Fox Day

The Annual Terry Fox walk                      will be held on Sunday, Sept. 14th.  Registration will be at 10 am at Bar Cascapedia & the walk will begin at 11 am.  Afterwards a day of entertainment, door prizes, canteen and bar service will take place at the Community Center, 55 Gallagher. If you would like to donate your time or talent, please contact Elaine at 759-5131(after 5PM) for more information.  All proceeds go towards the Terry Fox Foundation.  Let’s make this year our best ever.  Thank you once again for the support and welcome to all.

Fall Festival

This year the Fall Festival will be held on October 3-4-5th.  The weekend will be full of activities for all ages.  There will be advertising posted soon regarding the music for the weekend.  The Soap Box Derby is returning this year, the classic car show, games for the kids, flea market, cantine, bar, etc.
 We are also selling Fleece vests & sweaters for adults and fleece sweaters for the kids, Baseball caps and key chains, you can come and see them at the Municipal Offices during regular hours.

Flea Market

If you would like to reserve a table for the flea market during the Fall Festival, please contact Susie at 392-4042.  The cost to rent a table is $10.00 per day.
Decorating Supplies

We are looking for pumpkins and gourds to decorate the site for the Fall Festival, if you have any of these items to donate, please call Susie at 392-4042.  Thank You.

Fire Prevention Week

This year’s Fire Prevention Week will be held from October 5th to 11th, it is a good time to have your chimneys cleaned and inspected, and change the batteries in your smoke detectors.

Bottle Drive

New Richmond High School will be having a bottle drive on September 6th, all proceeds to go to the Class trip of June 2009 for Grades 7 & 8.  The kids will be going door to door over the morning, if you are not going to be home and you would like us to pick up your bottles anyway, just leave them outside and we will gladly take care of them for you.  Thank you.

Crib Tournament
Saturday, September 27th, there will be a cribbage tournament held at the Fifty Plus Club, 319 route 299, beginning at 7PM.  This is a doubles tournament and the cost is $10.00 per person.  Cash prizes will be given to 1st,l 2nd and 3rd place winners.  Twenty percent of the profits will go to the Club.  Welcome to one and all.

United Church

On September 14th at 10 AM an Ecumenical worship service will be held at St. Mary Magdalene’s Anglican Church on Campbell Road in Park Chaleur New Richmond.  Mr. Pierre Therrien of the Canadian Bible Society will be the guest speaker.  Everyone is welcome.

St. Andrew’s United Church Annual Memorial & Celebration Hymn Sign will take place at St. Andrew’s in New Richmond on Saturday, September 13th at 7 PM. To have a Memorial included in the service, please contact the Manse at 418-392-4274, or Kathleen Paquet at 418-392-4896, or Betty McWhirter at 418-392-4132 no later than September 7th.  Everyone is welcome and refreshments will be served afterwards.
