By-Law #07-04
This By-Law states in Article 3.1 “It is considered on offence to discharge a firearm from a public road, this includes an area of 10 meters on each side of the road surface.” Article 3.2 states  “It is considered an offence to discharge a firearm on a public road or across a public road.”  This By‑Law, which was adopted in the MRC of Bonaventure, has been in effect since August 6th, 2007.  The Police are responsible for upholding this By-Law. People need to have permission from a property owner to be on private land.  Anyone wishing to obtain a copy of this By-Law can do so at the Municipal Offices during regular business hours.
Royal Canadian Legion Chaleurs Bay Branch #172
Remembrance week is from October 31st to November 11th, Church services this year will be at the Gesgapegiag Church. 
We wish to advise the community and our members that Remembrance Day, Tuesday November 11th, will be held this year at the cenotaph located at the corner of Route 299 and Route des Ponts in Cascapedia-St-Jules at 10:40AM.  Those wishing to purchase a wreath are asked to contact M. John Charron at 418-534-2609 by November 7th.  Please arrive early to collect your wreath, which will be distributed at Bar Cascapedia, across from the cenotaph.  A light lunch will be served after the ceremony at the Cascapedia Fifty Plus Club.  Everyone is Welcome.

Pot Luck Supper
There will be a Pot Luck Supper held at St. Andrew’s United Church in Cascapedia-St-Jules on Saturday November 1st from 4:30 to 6PM.  Adults $8 and Children under 12 $5.  Everyone is Welcome!

Office Closed
The Municipal Offices will be closed on November 21st for the day.  The regular office hours are Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 8AM to Noon and from 1:30 to 4 PM.

Fall Festival Meeting
November 10th at 7 PM there will be a Public meeting held regarding the Fall Festival at which time the Financial Report for 2008 will be made public.  Everyone is welcome to attend.

Card Party
The Annual Card Party to benefit the St‑Jules Church will be held on Sunday, November 16th and will begin at 1 PM..  Articles for prizes will be picked up Saturday morning by our volunteers going door to door.  Thank you for your support.

Seminar – Starting a small business
At the Cascapedia River Museum on November 6th from 9:30AM to 4PM there will be a seminar given to English speaking women from the Baie-des-Chaleurs interested in starting a small business.  Registration is mandatory, and if you would like more information please call Julie Schlie at 418-391-3445 or Monique Brideau at 506-858-4495.  A lunch will be served and travel costs may be reimbursed, come and check it out, it’s FREE!

Taizé
A meditative prayer with silence and songs from Taizé will be held on Friday, November 24th, 7 o’clock p.m., at Notre-Dame des Saints-Anges Catholic Church, New Richmond. Welcome to all.

Christmas Bazaar
The annual Christmas Bazaar will be held this year on December 6th from 11 AM to 2PM at the Community Center. Lunch will be available with sandwiches, soup, coffee and dessert.  Anyone wishing to rent a table should contact JoAnne at 392-6708 or Jean at 392‑4503.

Bottle Drive
Students of Bonaventure Polyvalent School will be holding a bottle drive on Saturday, November 8th beginning at 9 AM.  Any bottles or donations that you can provide will be greatly appreciated.  Thank You!

Dépanneur St. Jules
We are pleased to announce our new home baked goods section.  Come and try our cookies, brownies, homemade bread, etc..  There is always something good for everyone.  Our homemade soups are back Monday to Friday.  Also stay tuned for notices on our next Customer Appreciation day coming in December.

Fifty Plus Club
Memberships for 2009 are now due.  You may give your dues to any director, bring it to the Bingo on Tuesday night or Dame de Pique on Friday night.  The fee is $10.00.  For anyone who is interested in becoming a member, you do not have to be 50 years old to join and we would welcome any donation towards this long-standing club.  Your support is greatly appreciated.  For more info., call Elaine at 418-759-5131 after 6 PM.
