Official Opening Spring clean-up Watch your mail for a flyer, we will be sending one out as soon as we have a date. Eagle’s Club The Annual Bottle Drive will be held on Saturday, May 24th. Children from the Community will be going door to door collecting bottles. Your support is greatly appreciated. Card of Thanks We would like to thank everyone who helped with our Dry Dump The opening of the dry dump will be announced by a flyer. The date is as yet unknown. Open air fires There has been an extension on issuing permits for open air fires until May 15th. This is only for this year due to the amount of snow yet to melt. Grand Cascapedia Women`s Institute Love quilts? Have some at home? The Grand Cascapedia W.I. will be holding a quilt registry and display on May 28th from 9AM to 4PM at the Community Center in Cascapedia-St-Jules. If anyone would like to register their quilts, old & new, with the McCord Museum, bring them “as is”. We are looking for volunteers from the community to help out. Recyc-Frigo is a new service being provided to encourage people to get rid of their refrigerators and freezers over 10 years old, and 10 to 25 ft2, because of the amount |
of electricity they consume. They will pick up the item at your house and give you $60.00 for each one, up to 2 per household. All you have to do is phone 877-493-7446 or go on line at www.recyc-frigo.com and fill out the form. Réno-Village Is a program to help people with major repairs to their home. You must own and live in your home, your evaluation must be lower than $75, 000.00. The registration period is from May 5 to 30th, you need to bring the income tax returns from anyone living in the house to prove household income, and your notice of assessment to prove that you do not owe the government any money. If you would like further information please call the municipal offices at 392-4042. Notice from Alliance Telecommunications As of June 21st, 2008 we are going to have to begin using all ten digits of a phone number to make a local call. Garage Sale On May 3rd from 8AM to 2PM at the Cascapedia-St-Jules Community Center there will be a terrific garage sale with items for everyone. The benefits will be going to the New Richmond High School Graduating Class Year End Trip 2009. Everyone welcome! New Phone Number The Cascapedia-St-Jules Community Center now has a new phone number, 392-6630. The new Town Hall and Fire Station are 392-4042 and the fax number is 392-6004. Book Room The Book Room is open every Wednesday afternoon from 2-4 PM, upstairs at the 50+ Club Hall. Drop by and pick up some summer reading material. Rotary Club Brunch The Rotary Club will be having a Mother’s Day Brunch on Sunday May 11th, 2009 at the Tournesol Restaurant in the New Richmond mall from 9 AM to Noon. The cost is $7 per adult and $5 per child. Everyone is welcome! |
